Our winery dates back to 1886. Currently, the fourth-generation, Dorottya Homoky has begun to take over the work on the estate. Both the vineyards (10 ha ) and winery are located in Tállya where we cultivate Furmint, Hárslevelű and Muscat Blanc. All our efforts goes to expressing the uniqueness of these lands and nature with the least amount of intervention in both vine growing and winemaking. We exclusively work with our own crop which we hand-pick every year in order to achieve the highest possible quality. The average yields are 1-1,5 kg / plant. When it comes to our winemaking philosophy, we let the natural guide our hands, all our fermentations go through spontaneously with natural yeast in stainless steel thanks while our ageing process takes place in Hungarian oak to shape a refined and balanced wine. Our sortiment includes dry, off-dry, late harvest, szamorodni and aszú wines ( from the past 10 vintage). With our current single vineyard selection, we present the biodiversity of Tokaj’s terroir. Dorottya Homoky is a member of TOKAJ GENERATION Y
Five young Tokaj winemakers. Some have started from nothing, and some have expanded the framework of their family winery, but all agree Tokaj is one of – if not – the most exciting wine regions in Hungary. As in other wine regions the new generation here is making its own way, curiously, experimentally yet respecting tradition and creating new values.
